Kikuyu musician Karanja David was left counting losses after an unknown gang demolished his four-bedroom house that was under construction.
The house together with the land on which it was were gifts from well-wishers who came through for the struggling Kikuyu benga musician.
Media reports indicated that Karanja's family arrived at the piece of land located in Laikipia - and which was to become their home- only to find rubble. The house has been demolished..
The vernacular musician said the area had witnessed rising cases of insecurity and asked the police to step up their efforts to help restore security.
He noted that the demolition came barely two months after well-wishers gifted him the land - and had began putting up the house.
"I had planned to venture into goat rearing and agricultural farming. But now the house has been demolished, and all we're left with are fragments of the house.
"We don't know the perpetrators of this heinous act ," he stated.
The musician's family called upon the government to intervene on the matter and ensure the criminals are brought to justice.
Karanja David is known for Kikuyu hit songs such as Ndiri Kinanda, Lucia and Nindacoka Ringi (I'm back again) which have amassed more than 500,000 views on Youtube combined.
