Changamwe OCPD David Matthews confirmed the incident saying that two of the other occupants are receiving treatment at the Port Reitz hosptital.

At the time of publishing, it was not clear what could have led to the fatal shooting, whether the suspects were just robbers or it was a deal gone wrong.

The incident came just a day after a KDF officer was shot dead by three armed robbers who were riding a motorcycle in Utawala estate, Nairobi County.

Joseph Mwangi Thitu, 33, was walking along a road within the estate when the trio ordered him to surrender it.

According to a police report, Mwangi is said to have ignored the thugs orders prompting them to shoot him.

"The thugs then made away with a bag Mwangi had and boarded their motorcycle and sped off towards mawe mbili direction," reads an excerpt of the statement.

Guards who were manning a supermarket in the area took the officer to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
