Bernadette Wangui Ng’ang’a who is the vice-chair of Mwangi Kiunjuri’s The Service Party broke the bank to celebrate her daughter’s birthday.

Wangui recently hired the entire Tamarind Hotel at Carnivore in Lang’ata, Nairobi to ensure both the privacy and safety of the attendees.

Only a limited number of close friends and family were allowed to keep unexpected guests from intruding.

Sources close to the politician said that the cost of hiring the whole hotel was in the hundreds of thousands since it is a 4-star hotel.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke Wangui who is a former Nairobi MCA said that, “the special day is not just for me but for the family and close relations. We celebrate Savvy as she turns 2 years. She forms part of what keeps me going.”

Photos seen by Kenyans showed the family and children enjoying themselves and engaging in activities such as swimming.

As the vice-chair of the Kiunjuri-led party, she was instrumental in the cooperation deal between TSP and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

Ruto is seeking to penetrate the Mt Kenya region whose leaders have urged him to pick a running mate from the vote-rich region, with the lead contenders being Kiunjuri and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.

“The purpose of this MOU is to formalize a framework of cooperation and to facilitate collaboration between the parties in support of the 2022 Agenda for capturing the presidency, building on their comparative advantages, and ensuring mutual reinforcement,” the deal reads in part.

The agreement was placed under the stewardship of the TSP vice-chair Wangui and Soy MP Caleb Kositany who is Ruto’s right-hand man.

Wangui also harbours political ambitions in Nairobi having been an MCA from 2013 to 2017 and is keen on returning to the city politics.

The mother of two is carefully weighing her options on what political seat to pursue subject to the outcome of the Building Bridge Initiative’s Constitutional Amendment Bill 2020.
