Judiciary’s New Strategy That Seeks to Make It More Efficient
Speaking in Mombasa, Chief Justice Martha Koome has revealed that she will adopt the bottom-up approach in an attempt to speed up service delivery at the Judiciary.
What this approach means is embracing shared leadership, meaning each judicial officer will be encouraged and supported to innovate and adopt measures to increase his or her efficiency in collaboration with the court users.
She also notes that she will she would seek to increase the working hours of the Judiciary from 5 pm to 9 pm to clear all the backlog cases.
Ample job opportunities for teachers
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced nearly 10,000 teaching jobs as it moves to address the shortage of tutors in schools.

Parts of Nairobi to Be Affected By Water Shortage
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) on Tuesday, June 29, announced that it would shut down water supply in some Nairobi estates. This because of the ongoing construction of the Expressway Highway.
The shutdown will facilitate the interconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline at the junction of Waiyaki Way and James Gichuru road. This will enable release of the road section between Nairobi School and the junction of Waiyaki Way Road and James Gichuru Road to the Expressway road.
some of the estates that will be affected include; Westlands, Highridge and Parklands, estates along Waiyaki Way, Rhapta Road, Parklands Road and Church Road.
Businessman Who Hit the Headlines Dies
Patel Mansukh, the owner of Solai dam, has died because of an unknown illness on Monday, June 28, while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital.
The businessman's name hit the headlines in May when the Solai dam burst its banks amidst heavy rain resulting in the death of 48 people. However, In a ruling in February 2020, Perry Kansagara and 8 others who had been charged with 48 counts of manslaughter and other criminal offences, were acquitted.
The Naivasha Chief Magistrate Kennedy Bidali set all the nine free, saying prosecutors had failed to show a willingness to prosecute the matter.
Doctrine Drama in Kiambu County
Two bishops, Bishop Stephen Ndichu who is a protestant deacon lamented during a funeral event attended by former Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo, in Kiambu County on Saturday, June 26, that the Catholic church had barred non-members from taking the sacrament at a holy mass, something that the priest leading the service found offensive.
Mourners at the funeral turned against Ndichu and threatened to interrupt the event. The Catholic bishop was forced to intervene, chasing away the speaker from the podium and from the event.
Kabogo, while speaking, later on, deviated from commenting on the issue of the doctrine but apologized to the mass and the priest.
