Nick Odhiambo's Son Dies

Radio Presenter Nick Odhiambo on Wednesday, June 30, announced the sad news of the death of his 3-day-old son.

In a statement on his social media account, the aggrieved presenter mourned the demise of his son, Lil'Kyeon who was born a few days ago.

Further, Nick expressed his shock after he was informed that his baby was buried yesterday, Tuesday, June 29, due to the restrictions imposed by the government.

"What a short-lived joy! Born Friday, June 25, to Monday, June 28. I've been celebrating you and giving mom space to heal, then I'm told you were buried yesterday. And just seen your new home! I have cried my eyes out asking why? Lil'Kyeon," Odhiambo stated.

Odhiambo had taken to social media on Friday to express the joy of welcoming his second child just days before the demise.

The journalist also suffered immense grief in 2019 after losing his unborn child, J’lani.

"The countdown to your birthday cut short…. Sometimes life just throws you a curveball !!!..but it is what it is..lil’ J’lani R.I.P.. My son didn’t make it to see this beautiful world,” he stated in a past post.

The news comes days after Odhiambo announced his shift to Royal Media's Hot 96. He had made his name at Standard Media Group-owned Radio Maisha after a four-year stint.

The journalist took to social media to announce that his contract with Radio Maisha ended on Tuesday, June 22. 

"Today's my final Rhumba show on air after four years at Radio Maisha. Did I ever think I’d switch to Swahili radio? Nope, but the opportunity came, and I took it,” he stated recently.

Prior to joining Radio Maisha, Odhiambo had previously worked for Classic 105 for ten years hosting The Drive alongside Larry Asego.
