A CCTV footage released by an Airbnb along TRM Drive in Kasarani, Nairobi captured two women who were accused of drugging and robbing a TV photographer equipment worth Ksh300,000 on Tuesday, June 29.

Inooro TV show host Jeff Kuria shared the photographer's, Timothy Ndung'u, plight urging his followers to assist in tracking down the suspects.

According to Ndung'u, a client (a woman) allegedly booked him for a photo shoot but turned against him once the set was ready.

"They (two women) offered me some coffee when I arrived. I felt drowsy and blacked out only to wake up two hours later.

"They took all the equipment worth Ksh300,000 that I had hired from another photographer," the reporter narrated.

He added that the Airbnb alleged that they did not register the details of the suspects when they rented out the apartment.

However, the management availed CCTV footage which captured the two women entering and leaving the premises.

"If anyone gets wind of cameras being sold in black markets and online, kindly notify us. These may be the equipment we are looking for," Ndung'u urged.

"Let us help Tim find the equipment," Jeff Kuria added. However, they hadn’t clarified whether the issue was reported at a police station by the time of publication.

In June 2021, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a woman believed to be the ringleader of a notorious gang accused of robbing revellers in Nairobi nightclubs. Detectives had tracked down the lady for several days after a popular joint in the city filed a report against her.

The investigative agency, in December 2020, conducted a similar crackdown and nabbed a gang pouncing on unsuspecting clients at a hotel in Kiambu County.

"Mobile phones and several bottles bearing labels of various brands of alcohol, and which are believed to contain stupefying substances were also confiscated from the five, aged between 24 and 30 years," the DCI noted.
