The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) will cut down some services offered under its cover.
The services include overseas treatment for special surgeries, rehabilitation for drugs and substance abuse, emergency road evacuation, and imaging services such as X-RAYS, CT scans, and MRI.

NHIF Chief Executive Officer Peter Kamunyo stated that patients will now be required to exhaust other sources of income before using NHIF to pay for the mentioned services. This is because according to the Health Financing Reforms Expert Panel Report, the national health fund registered loss when catering for specialized surgery and major surgery.

Veronica Pickering is the first black woman and Kenyan to be appointed Royal Air Force (RAF) Honorary Air Commodore. The aerial warfare faction (RAF) works with both local and international partners to patrol airspaces, respond to threats, prevent conflict, and provide assistance where instructed.
Veronica Moraa Pickering was born in Kenya and moved to England with her parents in the late ’60s. She has accumulated over 25 years' worth of experience as a social worker and children's guardian.
Moreover, she has served as an International Child Protection Consultant for the UN (United Nations) and many NGOs(Non-Governmental Organizations) across Africa. Veronica currently lives in North Nottinghamshire working as an Executive Coach and Mentor with a number of companies and organizations across the United Kingdom and is married to Nottinghamshire-born Artist Roy Pickering.
Nairobi Water Rationing
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company announced that there will be an interruption of water for customers served by the Uthiru and Dagoretti Reservoirs.
The interruption is due to a scheduled shut down of the Dagooretti and Uthiru pumps at Kabete Water Works Pumping Station.
Some of the areas affected include parts of Gatanga Road, Amboseli Road, Sunset Estate, Sohill City Estates, and its environs. Also, residents living in the whole of Kawangware 56 and 46, Congo, Lower parts of Macharia Road will also be affected.
The water interruption is to facilitate rehabilitation and upgrading of the entire electrical power supply system in the pumping station.
Political Party Battle Over Funds
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula have stated that the NASA coalition is now dead as they have already started a legal process to pull out of the coalition and what is left of it is winding up and accountability. They have also stated that they want ODM to account for all the money sent to the coalition by the office of the registrar of political parties.
However, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has defied the three NASA principals, telling them to go on and dissolve the coalition. He insisted that ODM has nothing to lose if the three officially walk out.
Sifuna went ahead to state that the claims that ODM has failed to account for their share of the political party's funds are unfounded.
Former Vice President’s Brother Dies
Aggrey Siroyi Awori, the Ugandan statesman and younger brother of former Vice President Moody Awori, died on Monday afternoon, July 5.
The politician, who was a key political figure in Uganda, passed away aged 82, at a private hospital in Naalya, Kampala.
A close associate, Peter Oguttu affirmed that Aggrey had been sick for the past month, pointing out that he had been suffering from blood pressure as well as other diseases.
