Jubilee Vice Chairperson David Murathe on Wednesday, August 4, disclosed that President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga would be holding talks in a meeting in Mombasa County.

Murathe was accompanying the ODM leader during a meeting with a section of Murang'a youth when he made the sentiments.

He, however, played cagey with details surrounding the meeting. Attempts by Kenyans.co.ke to reach him on phone for more details regarding the meeting were futile.

The president has been staying in Mombasa since he jetted back to the Country from the UK.

“I am always attacked and even labelled as the face of impunity in the Jubilee Party, but I am telling you that there will be a new political formation," said Murathe as quoted by a local publication.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), NASA died after three parties pulled out. From now henceforth, we want to come together and form a new coalition and we need young people,” he added.

Murathe was confident that a coalition between Jubilee and ODM would produce the fifth president of Kenya.

"I have already told Jakom (Raila) to prepare because he will be the fifth president. Those who have eyes can see.

“Our people work with the people of Nyanza, we always win. Don’t you know that? Since independence, when we worked together, we won,” he stated.

Both the president and the ODM leader plan to make countrywide tours in a bid to unify Kenyans before the 2022 elections.

Analysts argue that the meetings, especially those in Mt Kenya region, are expected to counter Deputy President William Ruto's influence in the region.
