The Kenya Meteorological department has issued an advisory on expected rainfalls in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.
The Friday, August 20, advisory comes slightly over a week after the weather man issued a similar advisory indicating that the country would experience prolonged cloudy and cool conditions.
The weatherman has listed most parts of Nakuru, Migori, Homa Bay, Kericho, West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, and Bungoma, as those that would receive rainfalls over the next 24 hours.
Other counties in the list include Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Baringo, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Samburu, Nyarira, Kisii, Narok, Nairobi and some parts of Turkana County.
This means that Kenyans in the regions should expect chilly weathers and properly cushion themselves by wearing warm clothes and carrying umbrellas should the rains be abrupt.
Though the expected rainfall will provide relief to those braving dry and dusty conditions, some parts of the country will remain largely warm and dry.
Counties in Kenya's North Eastern, North Western, South Eastern lowlands and Coastal counties will not receive any rainfalls according to the Met department.
In the month of June, farmers from parts of the Rift Valley region expressed fears over persistent dry seasons that affected their agricultural activities.
Rift Valley, Kenya's food basket, is home to the largest commercial and arable land and delayed rainfalls have a ripple effect on the country's food security.
