Ex-Uhuru Aide Laban Cliff Onserio Lands Anchor Job at KTN

  • Former Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) officer Laban Cliff Onserio has landed a job as the Chief of Staff to Standard Group CEO Orlando Lyomu. He will also double as a KTN anchor effective September 1, 2021.

    An internal memo signed by Lyomu and seen by Kenyans.co.ke, indicated that Onserio would serve in the Editorial Department as a news anchor in suitable business and public policy programs.

    His key roles will include spearheading the media houses efforts in executive communications, government relations and stakeholder partnerships.

    Onserio has a wealth of experience spanning over 15 years across energy, media, private and the public sector.

    The internal memo was released just days after Onserio announced his resignation from PDU.

    He served as the Deputy Director, Communications and Public Policy for a period of three years.

    In his message, Onserio thanked the Head of State and his mentors for according him the opportunity to serve the public in that capacity.

    "My time at the Presidential Delivery Unit has come to an end... This was various teams of 40 professionals who came in from in and out of the country to join PDU.

    "I was honoured and I thank God for the opportunity to have been appointed to join the Presidential Delivery Team. It has been an amazing experience. I look back with great nostalgia in terms of the training we received from top government officials on how to really cut our teeth in public service," stated Onserio. 

    Before joining PDU, Onserio held senior positions at the Nation Media Group, General Electric (GE) Africa and CNBC Africa.

    He holds an MBA in Global Business Management from the United States International University (USIU-Africa).

    In addition, he has undergone a journalism fellowship from the Reuters Institute of Journalism - the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Strathmore University.
