A resident of Ol Moran Laikipia County has attracted the sympathy of Kenyans after he emotionally broke into tears on Friday, September 10, upon his house being burnt down by bandits.
In a video that has since gone viral, Benson Kamara asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to break his silence on the matter and come to the aid of the residents who voted for him.
He lamented that it would be difficult to obey the government directive to take children to school amid the unrest in the area.

"All the food that I had stored in the house has been burnt, I was not able to salvage anything yet the government keeps saying that there is peace and we should take our children to school by Monday.
"What kind of life is this? President Uhuru Kenyatta, we chose you so that you could protect us," he stated.
Armed bandits torched seven homes, including two owned by police reservists, in Ol Moran area on Friday morning notwithstanding the heavy presence of security personnel.
Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident as occupants had already fled.
"We survived by the grace of God, as we fled using the back doors. I only managed to take with me my children and a few clothes,” Mary Maina, a resident told the Nation.
Currently, residents are seeking refuge in churches, police stations and other safer areas.
Interior CS Fred Matiang'i visited the area on Friday and directed the creation of a police division at Ol Moran with enough officers to patrol and boost security. Ol-Moran was also gazetted as the headquarter for Kirima sub-county and additional police stations.
Matiang'i directed more National Police Reservists to be recruited and deployed as well as a training base for elite police units.
He also officiated the distribution of relief food items to residents of Olmoron, Laikipia who had been affected by the violence and displacement.
