"The day has finally come. What a journey this has been. Master of Arts in International Relations," the Likoni lawmaker wrote.
Mishi Mboko has been vocal in politics and also in encouraging girls to take their studies seriously.
The Likoni MP graduated in 2005 from the University of Nairobi with a Diploma in Public Relation but went back to school to further her studies and acquire more knowledge.
Mboko joined Moi University and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) Communication and Public Relations.
Mboko is among lawmakers who have gone back to school as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati stated that in the 2022 General Election the law will require aspirants for certain seats to be degree holders.
"We follow the law and the Election Act clearly state that all candidate in the six elective positions must have a university degree to qualify to run for office," Chebukati stated.
He also warned aspirants not to dupe the commission stating the IEBC will engage professional bodies to handle cases of fake academic documents.
"We are in a country where cases of fake degree certificates are common and we have engagements with Kenya National Qualifications Authority and the Commission for University Education to verify academic certifications," the IEBC chair stated.Likoni Member of Parliament Mishi Mboko at her graduation on Saturday, September 25.
