The push to impeach Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i has caused a rift among Deputy President William Ruto’s allies.

On Friday, October 8, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro castigated his Nyali counterpart Mohammed Ali, over his move to have Matiang'i kicked out.

In his argument, Osoro holds that Mohamed Ali, alias Moha Jicho Pevu's petition to have Matiang'i ousted is baseless.

He says that the motion presented by the former investigative journalist is not worth being used to send the powerful CS home.

"I have gone through the impeachment grounds fronted by Hon. Mohammed this morning and I must say I am disappointed. Why would one want to impeach the CS over his dispute with his governor over some wall?" Osoro asked.

While making his case, Osoro stated that the National Assembly committee should dismiss the motion and focus on other issues of public interest since there are no genuine concerns Ali seeks to address.

The lawmaker rather defended Matiang'i, noting that he has a boss who expects results and  loyalty from him.

"On all other operations by the CS, he works under instructions and any sane grown-up should actually commend his loyalty to his boss, the President. Same way I don't like any person undermining me over my loyalty to Dr.William Ruto," Osoro remarked.

Standing to his grounds, Osoro assured Mohamed Ali that he will not take part in the impeachment process of CS Matiangi, unless he presents a sensible argument.

Notably, Osoro said that he talked to Ruto on the same, and found out that the Deputy President had no idea that such a motion was in parliament.

"I have shared with DP Ruto this morning over the same and found out that he is unaware of such a motion and has committed to call upon MPs to focus on matters that touch on common mwananchi. In his words 'it is not time for impeachments, it is time to focus on serious legislative matters like NHIF and fuel prices," he mentioned.

This comes after Mohamed Ali had on Thursday, October 7, announced that he had received all the signatures he required to kick Matiang'i out of his office.
