KTN News anchor, Ken Mijungu, and his guest, lawyer Miguna Miguna, were on Wednesday, October 27, engaged in a heated verbal confrontation during a live TV interview.

The two, who were set to deliberate on various contentious issues regarding the rule of law, the general state of the nation, and the role of the Judiciary in dispensing justice in the society, engaged in a verbal altercation that characterised the whole interview.

During the interview, Mijungu accused Miguna of allegedly violating the Constitution by swearing in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga, as the People's President early 2018.

The combative lawyer, however, did not take Mijungu's sentiments easily accusing him of diverting from the norm.

"You are diverting attention and this is what I warned you against because I knew this is what you would do. I knew you would try to get away from Uhuru Kenyatta violating the law. No no... you can't answer your own question, and I'm going to answer the question the way I want not the way you want. So you better keep quiet when I'm answering your questions," Miguna retorted.

This led to the KTN news anchor calling out Miguna for evading the questions - a claim the lawyer did not take kindly.

"I am not one of those people who you can play around with on this channel, so if you are not going to interview me, tell me and I will switch it off," Miguna vented out.

In what appeared to be a back and forth confrontation between the two, the host attempted to restore decorum and allowed the lawyer to portray his sentiments.

The discussion further deviated to the role of the Kenyan media in ensuring social justice is served. Miguna poked holes on the perceived bias portrayed by the likes of Mijungu on such matters, claiming that the media was yet to interrogate Raila about the matter fours years later.

"How do you have the audacity to accuse me of swearing somebody in when you have not charged that person. So why are you charging me and not him. That is how ridiculous that question is, you have never asked Raila that question yet you had fours years to do so," Miguna posed.

The lawyer also refrained from commenting on Deputy President William Ruto's Presidential campaign, pointing out that he would not deviate from the agenda of the interview.

"Miguna is not Ken, because he is not a coward. Miguna is not you. I don't find excuses for despotism, the way you do," he stated.
