Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi, on Thursday, November 25, blasted Wiper Party Strategist Norman Magaya after challenging him for the Westlands parliamentary seat.

In a heated exchange on social media, Magaya told United Democratic Alliance(UDA) allied politician to expect defeat in the forthcoming polls.

Havi in response encouraged the former National Super Alliance (NASA) CEO in his quest for the Westlands parliamentary seat but was quick to remind him that he paid his hospital and medical bills for one year.

"I will congratulate you and give you my unwavering support just I dedicatedly paid your hospital bills and brought you medicine for one year," he stated.

Havi warned Magaya to save himself from another heart attack, stating that taking the differences between them seriously will only put him at risk.

"This is not a matter of life and death to me, do not make it one for yourself. Do not hold politics close to your heart, you will get another heart attack," he stated launching his scathing attack."

The exchange elicited mixed reactions from social media users, who accused Havi of hitting below the belt, by bringing up personal matters that were irrelevant in the matter at hand.

In November 2020, Magaya revealed that he was facing eviction over rent arrears, as his medical bills accrued from being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in India in 2019 for his existing heart condition.

The former NASA CEO revealed that he was on the verge of eviction and embarrassment over his financial turmoils and that his woes were as a result of unwavering political stand and affiliation.

The former aide to ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga defected to Wiper after the party announced its withdrawal from NASA in July 2021.

He was made Head of Political affairs of the Kalonzo Musyoka's led party, and is tasked with strategizing the party's economic blueprint in the forthcoming 2022 elections.

He has since declared interest in the Westlands parliamentary seat on the Wiper ticket, and is set to battle out with UDA's Havi.
