During his tour of the region, Ruto had gone to drum up support for his quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the State House race.

In his speech, he promised to set aside a kitty of Ksh100 billion to cater for the agriculture and processing sectors in order to provide employment to the youth.

He argued that it was unfair that a majority of young people were still jobless despite attending school and acquiring certificates.

"The debt of Big 4, which Uhuru and I promised to you, for the youth employment, universal health coverage and Agriculture, I William Ruto, since I planned with Uhuru, am ready to pay it.

"That is why I am telling you, next year, Priority number one will be setting aside Ksh100 billion in housing, Agro-processing and manufacturing like we had planned," he stated.

A section of youth, who were at the event, however, became rowdy and shouted at the DP and his entourage claiming the Kisii belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party associated with his opponent Raila Odinga.

This comes a day after Ruto was forced to chase away hecklers from his meeting after a section of the youth turned rowdy.

The meeting started off calmly, with several politicians who accompanied him to Laikipia addressing the youth who turned up in large numbers.

As Ruto addressed the crowd, championing for his Bottom-Up economic model, the hecklers interrupted and attempted to cut him off.

"Stop disrupting my meeting. You have the liberty to organise your own. I will not allow you to come to my gathering to heckle me. Let us uphold some manners. This is my meeting. Let us respect each other," Ruto cut his speech short to face them off.

"Go and disrupt your own speakers," the DP retorted, adding that they were indisciplined and unruly.
