YouTuber and former Capital FM presenter Mandi Sarro, better known as Miss Mandi, has issued a statement after accusations of past actions became the subject of conversations on social media.

She indicated that she would continue to work on herself and learn from her past mistakes and interactions.

"I do not recall the many experiences recounted online, but I feel terrible that some of my actions may have caused distress. I have been on a journey of self-improvement for the past decade. I will continue to work to be the better version of myself."

"As I grow older I have ensured to continuously correct my behaviour at the earliest opportunity and learn from my past mistakes and interactions," she noted.

Mandi also highlighted that the vile person portrayed on social media did not represent her morals and values. She also advocated for a healthy and safe workplace for all regardless of their status.

“I cannot underestimate how important it is to create safe workspaces for all I come into contact with.

“So I pray and hope that anyone who may have been hurt by previous colleagues will find new ways to address those conflicts which allow them to be genuinely resolved," she stated.

The YouTuber also lauded those who had taken their time in order to give their counsel regarding the matter- adding that it would not go in vain.

"I have been on a journey of self-improvement for the past decade and that path is going to continue. We are all more than our worst moments, I will continue to work to be the best version of myself. The world needs more kindness and love and I want to continue to contribute to it.

"Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to speak with me regarding this. your counsel will not be in vain," she stated.

This comes as NTV's The Trend host Amina Abdi Rabar also issued an apology after her name was dragged in the conversations of being a toxic worker.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) had advocated for employers to put more emphasis on mental health at the workplace in order to allow the employees to become more productive.

Mental Health at Workplace

A recent report by MOH titled A Comprehensive Guide on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support During the Covid-19 Pandemic revealed the signs of those dealing with a mental breakdown, which include:

Thinking: Whereby the person is easily distracted, has trouble with concentration and trouble remembering.

Body: The employee has an increase or decrease of energy, experiences body tension, feels restless, persistent sweating, being easily startled, constant headaches, changes in appetite and has difficulty sleeping.

Emotions: The worker has trouble relaxing, feeling irritable, feeling down and feeling anxious.

Behaviour: The employee wants to be alone, has trouble completing work tasks, blames others and easily gets into arguments.

Among the coping measures advocated for include talking to a trusted friend or loved one which is a helpful way to reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety, fear, boredom or vulnerability during social distancing.

Further, the employee can seek support from family, friends, mentors, and/or spiritual/religious leaders, become flexible and creative in accessing support via phone, email, text messaging, and video calls whereby they can share their experiences and feelings to loved ones and friends.
