Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, has explained why the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga, should retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta after the August 9 elections.
In a statement, the vocal legislator, who is undergoing treatment in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, noted that it was time for the older generation to give way to the newer one.
He explained that the alliances that the country was currently witnessing were a result of the revolution that began thirty years ago on the return of multi-party democracy.
According to Kuria, the ODM leader should read the writing on the wall and call it a day.
"The tremors in the country are part of a revolution marking thirty years of our multi-party experiment. The old order must give way to the new order.
"The gods have spoken. I advise my friend Raila Odinga to give way to this revolution and retire with grace alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta," the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) leader wrote.
Kuria also took a swipe at Azimio La Umoja headed by Raila claiming that it was a bad idea that is destined for hell.
"Azimio is a bad idea, fronted by the wrong people, for all the wrong reasons. Its fate is Jehanum and judgement day is here," he added.
The Gatundu South MP has, however, not made it clear on his preferred presidential aspirant and is expected to do so when he jets back into the country and during his thanksgiving prayer day slated for February 19 at Thika Stadium.
In July 2021, Kuria unveiled Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) after being kicked out of the People's Empowerment Party (PEP).
On July 22, 2021, PEP Chairman Watson Simiyu revealed that the party differed with Kuria over undisclosed fundamental aspects.
Simiyu explained that the issues surfaced after the Juja and Gaturi by-elections won by UDA and PEP respectively.
Pundits expected Kuria to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party led by Deputy President William Ruto, but he resorted to registering his own party.
Kuria explained that he declined to join UDA after Ruto's directed politicians joining his party to fold their outfits. He, nonetheless, revealed that he would drum up support for Ruto.
