The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Amollo Odinga paid a visit to his in-laws in Kandara, Murang'a County on Saturday, January 29.
The former Prime Minister was accompanied by his son, Raila Odinga Junior during the family visit in Kandara.
His son, Junior, is married from that family who have heavily invested in the education sector in the country through their international group of schools.
The African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development was received in Kandara by his son's wife Yvonne Wambui Odinga before embarking on his political tour in the Mt Kenya region.
Raila Junior's mother-in-law, Susan Gachukia was also present during the mid-morning visit.
Wambui's grandparents, Daniel Gachukia, 93, and Eddah Gachukia, who are the founders of Riara Group of Schools and Riara University also held a session with the ODM leader.
The two noted that they were glad to catch up with Raila and welcomed him to their home in Kandara.
Kakamega Governor and former who is also ODM Deputy party leader, Wycliffe Oparanya, also accompanied Odinga during his visit to the in-laws in Kandara.
Raila Junior established ties with the family of Riara Group of schools founders after he married Wambui on September 3, 2011, at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country club in Nairobi.
The colourful ceremony was graced by top leaders including the late President Daniel Moi, late Environment minister John Michuki, current Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o among others.
Junior, during the wedding expressed his love for Wambui and detailed the significance of his marriage to the unity of the country.
The two welcomed a son on August 25, 2021, and Odinga proudly talks about his in-laws.
The former Prime Minister is touring different parts of Murang'a County popularising his presidential bid under Azimio la Umoja movement, with a mega rally expected at Ihura Stadium.
