Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, has set the record straight on reports about conditions issued to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over a possible coalition agreement ahead of the August polls.

Kalonzo was responding to media reports that indicated that One Kenya Alliance(OKA) had demanded that one of the principals be picked as Raila’s running mate as the political drumbeats get louder.

Speaking at a political rally in Huruma, Nairobi County on Sunday, February 6, the Wiper leader refuted the reports stating that no demands had been issued to the Azimio team.

The former Vice President stated that he was not fond of making demands to leaders stating he was in no position to make demands asserting that leadership comes from God.

“In the newspapers today, you saw that they wrote that OKA issued some demands for us to join Azimio

"I am not a person who wants anything from anyone. The leadership of the government is given by God. Therefore I want to tell them that they are welcome to OKA and not OKA joining them,” he stated.

The reports saw Kalonzo come under sharp criticism from a section of leaders from the Lower Eastern region especially Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana who stated that Kalonzo was in no position to make demands to Raila.

"As Chairperson of the South Eastern Economic Bloc (SEKEB), and my two governor colleagues & the Ukambani people, we welcome OKA into Azimio.

"The grand vision is genuine unity to save and prosper Kenya, not to share positions. Let the new entrants honour the Early Azimio birds," he stated.

During the Huruma rally, Kalonzo drummed up support for his presidential bid stating that he was better placed to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He extended an olive branch to Raila stating that OKA was open to partnering with like-minded parties ahead of the August polls.

Kalonzo promised to create jobs for the youth stating that he would partner with other countries like South Sudan to open its job market for Kenyans.

“I will give some people work in South Sudan. You know the work that I have done there of bringing peace in that country. There will be 500,000 jobs there,” he stated.
