A section of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga allies now want him to woo Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, to join the Azimio La Umoja camp.

Speaking on Wednesday, February 2, during a rally to popularise the political outfit in Kajiado County, the Raila allies led by Narok Senator, Ledama ole Kina, challenged the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), who was in attendance, to join hands with the former Vice President.

Ledama noted that he had already spoken to Raila and expressed his concerns and what his thoughts were on courting the Wiper leader.

"Since we are many, I have today asked Raila to join forces with Hon Kalonzo Musyoka so as to elevate the country. Baba (Raila), now the task is in your hands.

"Kalonzo, please come over and work together with us," he appealed amid cheers from the crowd in Kitengela.

Ledama made the remarks during the rally attended by other ODM heavyweights including Mombasa Governor, Hassan Ali Joho, and Suna East Member of Parliament, Junet Mohammed.

The sentiments by Ledama came shortly after reports emerged that Kalonzo's powers within the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) movement was trimmed.

In a meeting with the other three principals, the team agreed that Gideon Moi (KANU), Cyrus Jirongo (UDP) and Martha Karua (Narc-Kenya) held equal say and ownership of the coalition.

OKA was previously registered under Kalonzo's name at the Registrar of Political Parties, raising doubts about the power of the remaining trio.

Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi, noted that they had finalised the OKA coalition agreement and will deposit it with the Registrar of Political Parties on Monday, February 28.

During the meeting that was held at SKM Command Center, Kalonzo explained that OKA will involve the organs of the consistent parties in negotiations with other parties that have expressed interest in teaming up with them ahead of the August 9 polls.

In a previous interview, Kalonzo had admitted that he would be a fool to endorse Raila for the the third time after National Super Alliance (NASA) movement collapsed.
