Kenya Kwanza Alliance rally in Nakuru County on Friday, February 11, was marred with confusion after Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula mistakenly campaigned for Azimio la Umoja.

Wetangula, who was in the company of Deputy President Willian Ruto and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi immediately realised that he had blundered and rectified his mistake.

The incident took place moments after the FORD Kenya party leader had just received the microphone from Mudavadi who had addressed the crowd.

"We have come here with William Ruto together with Musalia Mudavadi and Rigathi Gachagua to ask you one thing, that you vote for azimi...," he stated.

"Support our group Kenya Kwanza because it is the group that cares about the issues affecting Kenyans," he stated.

After the blunder, Wetangula continued with his address even as he called for the  National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to interrogate Muranga Women Representative Sabina Chege over sentiments she made at a rally in Luanda, Vihiga County.

Consequently, after the rally, a video of the incident made rounds on social media with various online users commenting on Wetangula’s slip of the tongue.

"Wetangula forgot where he was and said Azimio during a Kenya Kwanza rally in Nakuru," a Social media user under the name Abdiaziz Hashim stated.

Wetangula's slip of the tongue barely comes days after a parliamentary aspirant in Nambale, Busia County made the same blunder to endorse former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's  Azimio during Ruto's visit to western Kenya.

"You vote for Azimio of Kenya Kwanza. The one headed by the hustler himself, his excellency, Dr William Samoei Ruto," the aspirant stated.

During the rally on February 7, Ruto was seen, turning his head in disappointment after the mistake by the politician.

Supporters of the Azimio claimed that the Nambale politician had a Freudian slip, a situation where somebody expresses their subconscious feelings unintentionally.
