The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced a mass recruitment exercise in which it seeks to enlist 5,000 Kenyans in the positions of Police Constables.
In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the recruitment process will take place countrywide and will start on Thursday, March 24, at listed constituency-based centres.
All applicants are expected to be at their respective recruitment centers by 8am. The recruitment process will end at 5:00pm.
The applicant has to be a Kenyan citizen.
They must hold a Kenya National Identity Card.
The applicant ought to possess a minimum qualification of ‘D+’ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with a ‘D+’ (Plus) in either English or Kiswahili languages.
They must be aged between 18 and 28 years for holders of KCSE Examination Certificate or its equivalent, and up to 30 years for diploma and degree holders.
The candidate must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The applicant must be physically, mentally, and medically fit.
They must have no record or pending charges in a court of law.
Point to Note: Female candidates are instructed not to be pregnant at the recruitment phase and during the entire training period.
Further, examination result slips from candidates would not be accepted. Applicants caught canvassing directly or indirectly, willfully presenting false academic certificates and testimonials as well as engaging in any corrupt activity would be disqualified and in extreme cases prosecuted.
"Under section 25 of the National Police Service Commission Act, any person who willfully gives to the Commission any information which is false or misleading in any material particular, commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding Ksh200,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both," read part of the notice.
Application Submission
All candidates must complete the prescribed application form from the nearest Sub County Police Commander (SCPC) or any police station or the nearest sub-county administration police commander's (CIPU) offices and county commissioner's offices or the nearest Huduma Centre.
Forms can also be downloaded from npsc.go.ke, nationalpolice.go.ke, kenyapolice.go.ke, administrationpolice.go.ke, cid.go.ke and mygov.go.ke websites.
All applications must be submitted in duplicate accompanied with the following documents: a copy of the academic certificates and testimonials, a copy of the Kenya National ID, a copy of the applicants Birth Certificate and KRA Pin Certificate.
Each candidate is instructed to present the original documents for verification. The originals would be returned to the applicant before leaving the recruitment centre.
Successful applicants recruited for the training into the service shall be bonded to serve in the National Police Service for a minimum period of ten years.
