President Uhuru Kenyatta was spotted wearing an exquisite watch during the Magical Kenya Open tournament held at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

A search by Kenyans.co.ke, showed that the watch is valued at Ksh37 million and only 100 of them exist in the world. The Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon is highly-priced due to some of its features.

An online search of its value revealed that the watch cost a whooping USD330,000.

Using the current conversion rate of USD1=Ksh114.76, the value of the watch can be placed at Ksh37,653,000, which does not include the shipping fee as well as the compensation for the personal shopper.

According to Watch Time, the three complications of the watch are a flyback chronograph, a perpetual calendar and a tourbillon. All the parts of the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon are hand finished.

Uhuru, who is a known watch collector, was spotted wearing the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon, which has 729 parts that are specially made and designed with precision by the German manufacturer of luxury and prestige watches, A. Lange & Söhne.

The piece by Uhuru is among 100 units, which are part of a limited edition that has special features such as a perpetual calendar, flyback chronograph, moonphase, and a tourbillon.

Watch experts rave about the perpetual calendar switch that is instantaneous and provides unambiguous readings at all times.

This was not the first time the President stepped out wearing an expensive timepiece. Reports have intimated that among the watches owned by the President is an Arnold & Son HM Perpetual Moon which costs more than Ksh3 million.

He also wears a Patek Philippe Aquanaut, that will set you back Ksh3 million. In 2018, during a funeral service of US-based Kenyan scholar, Calestous Juma, President Uhuru was photographed wearing a Cartier Santos 100 carbon watch which costs over Ksh700,000.

Uhuru was also spotted wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust that belongs to the same lineage as the first waterproof wristwatch in the world and is estimated to retail for more than Ksh500,000.

The President always leaves netizens talking about his watches. At some government meetings, Uhuru has been spotted wearing Apple Watches and these are speculated to be some of his cheapest timepieces although they may cost as much as Ksh96,870.
