President Uhuru's 7 Watches That Cost Over Kshs 10 Million

President Uhuru Kenyatta boasts of an expensive collection of luxurious watches that have been captured by keen-eyed Kenyans during his interactions with the public.

First on the list is an Arnold & Son HM Perpetual Moon which costs an upwards of Kshs 3 million.

According to the maker's website, the watch is made of 18-carat red gold, cambered sapphire with anti-reflective coating on both sides, case back see-through sapphire, and a hand engraved moon.

Uhuru's Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust belongs to the same lineage as the first waterproof wristwatch in the world and is estimated to retail for more than Kshs 500,000.

The Datejust was also the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in the display window, hence its name.

Other additions to the Head of State's Rolex collection are the Rolex Submariner Green Bezel and its Black Bezel variant which were originally created for underwater exploration and diving.

A Kshs 850,000 Rolex Submariner's unidirectional rotatable bezel is key to the functionality of the watch. Its engraved 60-minute graduation allows a diver to monitor diving time and decompression stops accurately and therefore safely.

President Kenyatta's Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 's most iconic aspect is its recognizable octagonal bezel shape attached with eight hexagonal screws.

Beyond the Kshs 3.8 million timepiece's octagonal bezel with eight screws, the trademark dial featuring the tapisserie pattern particularly makes it stand out from the crowd.

Another of Uhuru's chronometer, Patek Philippe Aquanaut, that will set you back Kshs 3 million if you want one for yourself.

The Aquanaut is different from other Philippe Pakek in that its hexagon bezel is rounded. It is resistant to wear, salty water and UV radiation.

During the requiem mass of US-based Kenyan scholar Calestous Juma at the Holy Family Basilica in 2018, Uhuru was photographed rocking a Cartier Santos 100 carbon watch that goes for over Kshs 700,000.
