The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news Anchor Akisa Wandera is officially off the market.

The former KTN News screen muse tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend in a traditional wedding held on Saturday, March 12.

The event, which was a low-key affair, took place at Mundika village in her home county of Busia and was attended by her family and close friends.

A video clip seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed the bride donning a dazzling maroon dress with a Golden brown embroidery detail on her torso.

Her groom was dressed in an elegant plain light-brown traditional-themed suit.

A source who attended the wedding told Kenyans.co.ke that it was a warm and cozy affair in line with the desires of the couple to keep it under wraps.

The duo are said to have dated for a long time before they decided to tie the knot in the elegant event dotted by traditional Luhya songs and energetic isikuti dances.

Several KTN News anchors and reporters graced event, including Akisa's host of media friends, cutting across the industry.

Over the recent months, the news anchor has seen changes in both her personal and career life. She exited KTN News in February where she had spent 7 years and rose through the ranks to News Anchor position in August 2018.

She was officially introduced to the audience by Ben Kitili, who was her co-host at the time.

Aside from reading news, the soft spoken journalist published several articles for the Standard cutting across human interest, politics and health. Among her most viral articles is 'The curse of leadership in the land of Mulembe'.

Wandera left the Mombasa Road-based media house for the London-based British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
