The Chairman of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Elections Board (NEB), Anthony Mwaura on Monday, April 4, announced more than100,000 job opportunities ahead of the party's nationwide nominations.

Mwaura stated that UDA will be recruiting returning officers in each county, 128 presiding officers and 100,000 polling clerks.

The selection and shortlisting of successful candidates will be done by members of the board. Interested parties have been encouraged to submit their applications on the party's official website.

"A total of 47 returning officers, 128 presiding officers and 100,000 polling clerks to conduct this exercise. Hustlers are encouraged to visit the party portal at UDA.ke to apply," Mwaura remarked.

The NEB Chair assured applicants that the selection process would be transparent and warned against canvassing. He warned aspirants against trying to use proxies to sign up as officials, promising dire consequences.

Mwaura noted that UDA has already contracted reputable election managers who are currently undergoing training. They will work in collaboration with the newly recruited officials.

Notably, nominations will be conducted across all electoral areas where more than one candidate has signed up for nominations and consensus or any other forms of nomination have not been applied.

The primaries will be undertaken in 12 counties for the gubernatorial seat, 19 counties for senatorial seats and 27 counties for Woman Representative seats. They will also be conducted in 128 constituencies and in 892 wards.

UDA's recruitment of election clerks will be the biggest in Kenya's history of party primaries. It has surpassed that of the Jubilee Party in 2017 which recruited 60,000 clerks in its nominations.
