In the radio category, Radio Maisha owned by the Standard Group LTD emerged as the favourite station among Kenyans and was followed by Ramogi FM owned by Royal Media Services LTD and Milele FM of Mediamax.

Radio stations that won regional awards include: Sidai FM (Rift Region), Sayare Radio (North Rift Region), County FM (Eastern Region), Tuliza FM (Central Region) Radio Pacho (Nyanza Lake Region), Nyota FM (Western Region), and Kaya FM (Coast region).

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) on the other hand received the Ubora Award for Lifetime Achievement in recognition of the stations' role in shaping Kenya's media industry.

"The Ubora Award category also includes the Lifetime Achievement Award which celebrates entities or individuals who have demonstrated excellent service, made a positive impact, and significant contributions to the broadcasting industry in Kenya.

"This award will recognize broadcasters and individuals within the industry who uphold standards of good taste and decency with regard to copyright obligations," CA Director General, Ezra Chiloba stated.

Newly appointed Kenyans Ambassador to Belgium, Prof Bitange Ndemo, was also recognised for his role in the ICT industry following his role as Permanent Secretary from 2003 to 2013.

Ndemo received the individual award under the Ubora award alongside Esther Kamweru.

Chiloba stated the awards were in recognition of the efforts of the media houses in maintaining regulations put in place by the government.

"This year we have three major award categories. The first is the Regulatory Awards Category based on the monitoring of broadcasters’ compliance with selected requirements during the Financial Year 2021/22," he stated.
