Citizen TV news reporter, Chemutai Goin, is mourning the death of her father, Mzee Andrew Arap Goin.

Kenyans.co.ke was informed that Mzee Goin passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

Members of the media fraternity have sent their condolences to Goin and her family.

Burial preparations are underway and the family is yet to announce the day Mzee Goin will be interred.

The Citizen TV journalist showed courage when she shared the passing of her father with her followers on social media.

"At 84, Dad fought a fight for his life, in the end, he won, some victories are about peace... We mourn now but in the end, it shall be well," Goin shared.

The late Mzee Goin was a renowned farmer in Rift Valley and had worked as an agricultural extension officer before his retirement.

He was a devoted Christian who emphasized promoting education in his community and this was witnessed when he led the community to start and finance Cheplelachbei primary and secondary schools in Nandi county.

Deputy President, William Ruto, is among those who sent their messages of condolences to the family.

"Our prayers and thoughts are with relatives and friends of Goin's family following the passing on of Mzee Andrew Arap Goin of Cheplelachbei village in Nandi county. Rest In Peace," DP Ruto stated.

Kenyans on social media also joined the DP to send their messages of condolence to the Goin family in this tough time.
