Roots Party presidential candidate, Goerge Wajackoyah, has revealed details of a meeting he had with Deputy President William Ruto and his wife, Mama Rachel Ruto.

Speaking on Wednesday, June 29, during an interview on NTV, Wajackoyah stated that he met with Ruto for lunch while the DP was facing charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

According to Wajackoyah, a mutual acquaintance organized the meeting and the Deputy President informed him that he wanted a lawyer to represent him at the ICC.

Wajackoyah stated that he never had the opportunity to represent the Deputy President at the Hague at the time due to other engagements.

He was responding to a question over statements he made in Kisumu county where he claimed that a win for him is a win for Azimio La Umoja's presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, and vice versa.

Wajackoyah told NTV journalist, Mark Masai, that he is not campaigning for Raila and he was trying to relate with the crowd. He opined that being in Kondele - which is Raila's turf - he spoke in a manner that will not turn the crowd hostile.

"When you saw me sleeping on the car in Kisumu, I was talking to Raila in a dream, and he told me he's pushing me to be the president," Wajackoyah stated.

The Roots Party presidential candidate also spoke on allegations of being bribed. He revealed that a woman was sent to sway him out of the race but declined the offer.

According to Wajackoyah, the woman offered him Ksh200 million and urged him to drop out of the race as well as campaign for a certain candidate.

Last week, Wajackoyah told revellers at a club in Roysambu, that some individuals reached out to him and offered him Ksh200 million to drop his presidential bid.

"Recently they came to my place and said that this Wajackoyah, why don’t we just pay him Ksh200 million so that he can drop his bid," Wajackoyah revealed.

"I looked at them and told them that I am the most learned man in Africa and I cannot be compromised. I have worked in higher places like the United Kingdom and I cannot betray the trust of the people."
