Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria cried foul over his arrangement with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 7, the Chama Cha Kazi party leader claimed that Deputy President William Ruto's footsoldiers had been given new directives to counter his campaign in Kiambu County.
Kuria claimed that Ruto's party had instructed its aspirants to take a break from their own campaigns and put in double the effort in campaigning for Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
The lawmaker alleged that UDA was on the move to counter his popularity in the county - claiming that he was being fought more than the party was fighting the Azimio Coalition in Kiambu.
He further implied that UDA was threatened by his popularity in the county even though he was supporting Ruto to clinch the presidency.
"This game is becoming interesting. The entire UDA brigade in Kiambu County has suspended their campaigns in 12 Constituencies to shore up Wamatangi's faltering campaign and fight one Moses Kuria, not Azimio. Popcorn, please," Kuria stated.
This was not the first time that Kuria was complaining about mistreatment by UDA even though his party is part of the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
In June, Kuria, accused politicians allied to the DP of frustrating partner parties in Kenya Kwanza.
The Chama Cha Kazi Party leader pointed an accusing finger at Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'a and former Thika town MP Alice Ng'ang'a for hatching a plan to sideline affiliate parties through secret meetings.
Kuria claimed the meetings were held by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) bigwigs aimed at locking out other affiliate parties.
"When it comes to planning meetings in Mt Kenya, they are held exclusively by UDA and we are locked out, for me, it is sad and strange."
"Even when it comes to the campaign team called Hustler Express which is my brainchild when they come to Kiambu, we are locked out," the vocal MP stated.
Further, Kuria revealed that he had never seen the coalition's agreement.
He noted that the power-sharing deal between Deputy President William Ruto, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and FORD-Kenya's Moses Wetangula was kept under wraps from other affiliate parties.
