Cracks within the Kenya Kwanza Alliance continue to deepen after Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, accused politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto of frustrating partner parties.

The Chama Cha Kazi Party leader named the likes of Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'a and former Thika town MP Alice Ng'ang'a for hatching a plan to sideline affiliate parties through secret meetings.

Speaking to Citizen TV, on Sunday, June 19, Kuria noted the meetings were held by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) bigwigs aimed at locking out other affiliate parties.

He added that such actions exemplified deceit within the Kenya Kwanza camp, describing it as conmanship.

"When it comes to planning meetings in Mt. Kenya, they are held exclusively by UDA and we are locked out, for me, it is sad and strange."

"Even when it comes to the campaign team called Hustler Express which is my brainchild when they come to Kiambu, we are locked out," the vocal MP stated.

Further, Kuria revealed that he has never seen the coalition's agreement. He noted that the power-sharing deal between Deputy President William Ruto, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and FORD-Kenya's Moses Wetangula was kept under wraps from other affiliate parties.

According to the legislator who is also eyeing the Kiambu gubernatorial seat, the initial agreement between Chama Cha Kazi and the Kenya Kwanza coalition is based on the numbers they brought to the table.

"I have never seen the agreement. I just hear about it that ANC would get 30 percent."

"The agreement we signed is that our share of government is going to be commensurate with our efforts and that is why we are complaining about our efforts being curtailed. How can we have meetings to plot against partners?" Kuria posed.

The lawmaker added that an alleged plot by UDA bigwigs to curtail his campaign bid, hence leading to the chaotic Kiambu tour that saw Tujibebe party William Kabogo and Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi clash.

Kuria pointed out that his competitors within the UDA outfit hire crowds as a deceptive measure of the large number of supporters.

"What my competitors do is transport their fans using buses and lorries to their campaigns so that they can cheer them. This in turn distorts market dynamics because you don’t get to know whether you’ve got real support on the ground."

Kuria noted that he had not yet communicated with DP Ruto about the matter, noting that the issues ought to be ironed out as a coalition and not in an individual capacity.
