Internet sensation, Ian Asunya- who went viral for shouting at one of the State House gates- is at it again. On Wednesday, July 20, he shared a video where he pulled the same stunt outside Deputy President William Ruto's residence in Karen, Nairobi.

The comedian called out the DP's name, asking for a loan to start a business of selling sweet potatoes. The security detail, manning the premises swiftly detained the content creator for questioning.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Asunya, who is popularly known as Nduru man, shared the ordeal, noting that he was carrying out delivery services in Karen when he got the idea to make a viral video addressing the country's second in command.

"I had made a delivery around Karen when I asked about the DP's residence from a resident who directed me to the premises. Upon arrival at the gate, I decided to record the video and address Ruto," he stated.

"The AP police officers manning the gate rushed to apprehend me and also confiscate my passport," he stated adding that the police officers recalled him from the State House incident.

Asunya was taken to Karen police station at 12.30 pm and was asked to pay a cash bail of Ksh10,000 or be arraigned the following day.

Opting to stay in the cell instead of paying the fine, the comedian was locked up with other inmates.

" I kept wailing inside the cell for the police to get me out but my plea fell on deaf ears. Hours later, they gave me an opportunity to make a phone call but the call did not go through," he noted.

Revealing that the whole ordeal took over seven hours, he was released at 7.30 pm on orders by the OCS.

"I was informed to report to the station on Monday in order to pick up my passport," he pointed out.

Asunya asked the DP to either grant him Ksh45,000 or open the business for him. He expressed confidence in Ruto's narrative of uplifting those at the bottom of the economic pyramid, through the bottom-up agenda.

"With the Ksh45,000 cash, I would purchase a cart to offer sweet potato delivery services. Another plea to the DP would be to order the city askaris to stop raiding my business," he added.

During the State House incident, Asunya was detained and later released by the General Service Unit (GSU) officers after they learned of his intentions of wailing at the gate.
