The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has opened a window for students pursuing postgraduate programs (Masters or PhD) in local public or private universities to apply for scholarships.
In a statement, HELB announced that the value of the scholarship award for Masters and PhD students is Ksh200,000 and Ksh450,000 respectively.
The scholarship is valid for a two-year period in relation to the Masters program and three years for a PhD program.
All applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh3,000 on the payment tab on the site's portal.
"Do not pay any individual to process your Postgraduate Scholarship Application," read part of the statement.
The deadline set for the application is slated for August 31, 2022.
Eligibility
Students interested in the scholarships ought to have a minimum undergraduate qualification of Second-Class Honors, Upper Division.
Further, preferences will be given to applicants undertaking Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Innovation and Fisheries [STEM IF].
The applicant ought to have a letter of Admission into a full or part-time Postgraduate university program.
The HELB Postgraduate Scholarship application form is accessible from the Student Portal upon registration.
The applicant is required to access, register and complete the Postgraduate Scholarship Application (PGSA).
Once done, click and submit the duly completed application then download and print the PGSA.
Proceed to have the PGSA duly signed and stamped by the relevant authorities and attach all the necessary documents as indicated in the checklist.
Scan the filled PGSA and all the attachments in PDF format as one document.
