As elections results continue to trickle in after Kenyans voted on August 9, several constituencies and wards have already declared their winners.

Some of those who contested in the just concluded polls include media personalities and journalists who ditched their white collar office jobs to battle out in the murky world of politics.

Nearly 24 hours after the closure of polling stations, some personalities have been declared winners while others conceded as soon as the results started tickling in.

Here are the seven media personalities and how they faired in the elections.

Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang'o, is headed to the August House after he emerged victorious in the Lang'ata parliamentary race.

His competitor, Nixon Korir, already conceded defeat to the former Kiss FM breakfast show host, noting that it had been a great opportunity to serve the people of Lang'ata for five years.

"I sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years. It's been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation-building and service to the people," the former aide to Deputy President William Ruto stated.

Robert Alai, a renowned city blogger, also secured his slot in the Nairobi County Assembly after he emerged victorious to represent Kileleshwa ward.

Alai contested for the post under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which forms part of the larger Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance.

Njambi Koikai, a former radio show host, was, however, unlucky in her bid to represent the people of Nairobi as the Dagoretti South Member of Parliament.

Koikai joined the race as an independent candidate shortly after returning into the country from her endometriosis treatment abroad.

"To the people of Dagoretti South and all my supporters, we have fought the good fight, we finished the race, and we kept the faith. I wish to congratulate the winner on their election and I wish them all in advancing the hopes of our constituents in Dagoretti South," stated Koikai as she conceded the outcome.

Former Churchill Show comedian, Jasper Muthomi - better known as MC Jessy, also lost his bid to ascend to Parliament to represent Imenti South constituency.

In his concession message, Jessy thanked the people of Imenti South for giving him an opportunity to contest for the seat and for supporting him throughout his political journey.

He went ahead to congratulate Shadrack Mwiti for clinching the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.

"To the people of South Imenti Constituency, I sincerely thank you so much for the time we have interacted during our campaign time. It has been a great journey. A journey of amazing political adventure, a journey of daring hearts. We will continue to engage as we look forward to next time, God willing," Jessy stated.

Former KBC presenter, Bonny Musambi, also lost his bid to head to the August House as the Kitui Central Member of Parliament.

In a statement, he explained that he would not pursue legal action although he claimed that the exercise was marred with rigging.

"My political journey begins officially! Despite open and daylight massive rigging in Kitui county including Kitui Central constituency, I choose not to dispute Member of National Assembly results. I, therefore, take this opportunity to congratulate my competitor the MP elect Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu," stated Musambi.

Other personalities whose results are yet to be announced include Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, who was vying in Mathare parliamentary seat and Tony Kwalanda who was seeking an MCA seat.
