  • Lang'ata MP-elect Felix Odiwour, alias Jalang'o, says he is open to hosting radio shows on the condition that the role does not impede him from executing his political obligations.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Jalang'o who quit Kiss 100 to concentrate on his political career, added that a morning show would be ideal.

"Radio is my love and if I get a morning show that ends by nine so that I can make it to Parliament on time, then why not?" he posed.

" I know many MPs who still do their jobs and deliver for their constituency," the former Papa Shirandula show comedian added.

Jalang'o, waiting to be sworn in, further told his fans that he is also open to participating in advertisements and commercial promotions as side hustles as long as clients agree to support communities in Lang'ata.

The emcee who co-hosted a morning show with Alex Mwakideu at Milele FM before moving to Kiss FM, also disclosed that he intends to mentor and empower the youths in his constituency by equipping them with film production skills.

"We have already started talking to our different partners on how we can work together on different projects. Some corporates where I am the brand ambassador are already committing to sink 20 boreholes in Langata," he stated.

On the fate of Jalang'o TV, an online show he used to run featuring different personalities, the MP-elect stated that it had been transferred to a team who would continue with the production.

He added that Jalang'o TV will also be used to highlight key development projects in Lang'ata. However, the comedian ruled out engaging in club appearances and hosting events in entertainment joints.

"My new job comes with a lot of responsibilities and time for clubs might not be there anymore," Jalang'o explained.

The MP-elect, who started as a fisherman, clinched the Lang'ata MP seat after garnering 38,948 votes, with his main rival, UDA's Nixon Korir, collecting 36,836 votes.
