Veteran journalist Louis Otieno has made a comeback on prime time TV, joining Look Up TV as a senior English news anchor.

A source privy to the matter revealed to Kenyans.co.ke that the deal was sealed after the station's management approached the seasoned news presenter to return to the screens, to which he obliged.

The source divulged that Louis shared a close working relationship with one of the bosses, dating back to their time at Royal Media Services (RMS), when Louis anchored news on Citizen TV.

The source affirmed that the journalist was the first name to be considered when they sought a media talent to anchor their prime-time news.

" Yes it's true, it's currently his second week at the station," the source unveiled.

Otieno will be anchoring prime-time news at Look Up TV from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm- different from the normal 9pm used in other media houses.

According to the source, Otieno who is employed on a full-time basis will be bringing his expertise and close to two decades worth of experience.

The star journalist, who was once regarded as the King of Kenya's TV interviews, has had stints at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), Kenya Television Network (KTN), Citizen TV and K24.

At the time, Otieno was lauded for his command of the Queen's language which earned him opportunities to co-anchor prime time news in his early twenties.

His career blossomed over the years to the point he was being touted as one of the highest-paid anchors of his era.

Things, however, took a different turn, when reports of a fallout between him and his bosses broke. Further, the journalist's star dwindled when he was implicated in a murder probe involving a college student.

From surviving sensorineural hearing loss to battling medical bills, Otieno slowly rebuilt his career to reclaim the fame he once had.
