A section of leaders from the Mt Kenya region now wants the Azimio running mate Martha Karua to apologise to the coalition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking after a thanksgiving service at Maua on Sunday, September 11, Murang'a Woman Representative Betty Maina opined that Karua failed to deliver votes from the region even after being picked as Raila's deputy.

According to the County MP, the votes the coalition party garnered in the region were a result of the diligence of the former Prime Minister and his sheer hard work.

"Martha Karua added no value, she added nothing to that basket yet she is complaining and taking ownership. The only business she is left with is to ask forgiveness from Baba because he got his votes through his hard work.

"And if we were to be honest, Azimio was not keen on seeking votes in the Mount Kenya region, their work was to compete on who will land the more choppers during campaigns," the Woman Rep. noted.

On his part, Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Githuka Kagombe condemned the move by Karua to seek redress at the East African Court of Justice over Kenya's Supreme Court verdict that upheld William Ruto's win.

Kagombe corroborated Maina's sentiments adding that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka had more right to appeal the decision of the apex court since he outdid  himself in delivering over one million votes from his region.

"Martha Karua should just be content. I wish it was Kalonzo filing the case instead because she did not even have support from  her backyard

"Kenyans have already decided that this is the government they want to work with and she should stop politicking. It is time to work, not engage in politics," the MP.

On his part, Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro stated that Kenyans had made their decision which was validated by the Supreme Court. However, he called on president-elect William Ruto not to sideline the people or regions who did not vote for him.

Constitutional lawyer Bobby Mkangi told Kenyans.co.ke that a ruling by the regional Court may not have affect the current situation to the level of stopping Ruto from being sworn into office,

He explained that if the  regional court rules in favor of a petitioner, it will issue a statement on the matter and probably award damages.
