NTV, on Friday, September 16, unveiled Brian George Otieno as its new business reporter.
Otieno was said to have been working at NTV for one month prior to his unveiling.
While exiting KTN News in August 2022, speculations were rife that he was set to NTV managed by the Nation Media Group.
"Sorry I forgot to mention. It's been exactly a month now since August 15 when I started a new job as a broadcast journalist at NTV. Here's to being intentional," the journalist stated.
Otieno was tasked with reporting on businesses in the informal and financial markets. He will also discuss money-making and investment ventures.
"Kwa ground there is life and then there is value addition and then getting to the market. We will cross borders to bring you news," Otieno stated in the video shared by NTV.
Otieno had worked as a business reporter for both KTN News and KTN for three years before his exit on Thursday, August 4.
His exit from the media house was announced barely a month after the other two reporters quit. Brenda Kerubo and Ibrahim Karanja had both served for more than three years.
The business reporter is a Tourism Management graduate from Moi University and is currently at Aga Khan University pursuing a Masters's Program majoring in Digital Journalism.
Otieno has joined other Ex-KTN journalists Duncan Khaemba and Ben Kitili who switched camps to NTV.
Khaemba, a political reporter, was poached by NTV in the months before the 2022 General Election in efforts to boost manpower during the busy election period.
The veteran journalist whose career spans 15 years in the media industry also previously worked at Citizen TV and K24 before joining KTN in 2016.
Kitili, an anchor, also joined NTV in 2022 as an assignments editor. The media house also hired Joe Ageyo from Citizen TV as the Editorial Director.
