"I feel melancholic as this has been my home since my early twenties. I've grown so much and all of it is anchored to Capital FM. Part of me feels sad because it's the end of a journey. I cannot take it for granted as it gave a villager from Nyeri a chance, for that, I'm forever grateful."

"I will miss the camaraderie in this place. The colleagues became family. Think about the conversations we had off-air," he stated.

While going down memory lane, Wokabi listed interviews with seasoned journalist Sean Cardovillis, two-time Olympic gold medal winner, Haile Gebrselassie and five-time World Cross country champion Paul Tergat as some of the highlights of his nearly 2-decade career.

Wokabi, as per his Linked In, previously worked for notable media houses and organisations such as International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF), Capital FM Kenya, Standard Newspapers and the People Daily.

He has also contributed to various sporting discussions on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Al Jazeera and Citi FM of Ghana.

Throughout his career, he won accolades including the 2007 BBC Africa Radio Award for sports and the Sport Award at the 2007 CNN/Multichoice African Journalist of the Year Awards.

He has also covered international sporting events including the London and Rio Olympics, Cricket World Cup, Commonwealth Games and the Africa Cup of Nations.
