The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has linked a female Kiambu woman representative aspirant to the foul murder of her husband in September 2022.
DCI stated that the body of the engineer, based in Rwanda, was found dumped in a tea plantation by casual labourers who reported the matter to the area chief.
The deceased had travelled to Kenya for a holiday and to visit his three children. Preliminary investigations alleged that he was killed after the wife suspected him of having an affair with a secretary at a local school.
"A Kiambu-based politician who unsuccessfully vied for a woman representative in the last election has been identified as the main suspect behind the murder," the DCI noted.
"He was brutally murdered in his own bedroom by people close to him," the sleuths added.
His body was wrapped in a polythene bag and covered under a heap of cartons one month later, on Wednesday, October 12.
The woman representative aspirant had reported him missing a day earlier, prompting DCI detectives to investigate his disappearance.
At his palatial home in Mang'u Kiambu county, DCI discovered blood-soaked bed sheets, curtains, and hidden clothes they stated would be used as exhibits in court.
"The homicide department has recovered some of the murder weapons used to kill the Rwanda-based engineer hidden in the master bedroom, the primary scene of the murder," the DCI noted.
In the horrific murder scene, DCI noticed blood splatter patterns on the bedroom walls, wardrobe, and along the stairway.
Detectives conclusively stated the blood stains indicated that the engineer was murdered in the house before his body was dumped in the forest.
"The 58-year-old was killed in cold blood hours before his return flight," the DCI alleged.
