Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu assured parents that reviews made to the curriculum, from primary to universities, will benefit graduates.
Machogu noted that frequent assessment is necessary for the education sector to align it with the job market's needs.
While touring learning institutions across the country on Friday, November 4, Machogu added that the changes would be strategically effected to reduce the unemployment rate.
"Proper utilization of what we have is key. At times we need to assess what the economy requires and what the job market requires," Machogu stated
Furthermore, the CS noted that the courses needed to be distributed to address all the needs of the job markets.
He added that necessary technicians were lacking in some estates, highlighting the glaring gaps in the courses Kenyans pursue.
"We want the polytechnics to get the relevance in the curriculum so that the technicians from those institutions are qualified and relevant," he added.
He also reminded parents that he was aware of the cost of education and urged teachers not to send students home for school fees.
"I have been getting complains from each and every part of the country that some school officials are taking money that is not accounted for, this is illegal,"
he stated.
Machogu also addressed the issue of examination leakage after three suspects were caught selling papers to desperate parents through social media platforms.
"The exams are ready and the government has taken all measures to secure the three sets of tests to be done towards the end of the year," he explained.
