Rigathi commended the business community for partnering with President William Ruto’s government as it seeks to find solutions to the country’s youth unemployment problem.

The Deputy President added that “as a Government, we will provide the necessary support to take the youth closer to their collective dream of a better future. This fund and the partnership with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance will go a long way towards giving the youth an equal chance at life.”

“Our economy has not matched the supply in generation of new jobs for our youth. Experts have warned us of the ‘youth time bomb’ occasioned by the jobless youth bulge,” the Deputy President said.

KEPSA has promised that the programme will leverage on technology and digital transformation, which are some of the key promises of the Kenyan Kwanza government.

“We all know that the youth were largely involved in the clashes of the post-election violence of 2007/2008. As the private sector, we sat together and agreed to provide solutions and this is how the youth agenda was birthed,” Kui Kariuki, CEO, KEPSA.
