A Chinese national filed a report at a police station in Nairobi accusing two traffic police officers of fleeing with Ksh1 million cash, which was stashed in his car.

In a report seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the foreigner reported the incident at Muthangari Police Station in Dagoretti on Thursday, November 17.

The foreigner alleged that the cops made away with the money after stopping him at a roadblock along Othaya Road for a routine traffic check.

According to the police report, the foreigner was driving a Toyota Landcruiser black in colour from Westlands towards the Junction Mall.

"He parked his car beside the road, whereby they took his driving licence and the car keys," the police report read in part.

One of the traffic police officers who was inspecting the car to ascertain if it had complied with the country's traffic rules allegedly found a parcel full of money and dashed away with it.

"According to the reportee, one of the traffic personnel opened the back door seat and found an envelope containing one million shillings in cash(Ksh 1,000,000) and took it, leaving behind his traffic cap," the report added.

According to the Asian man, the traffic officers then fled onboard a white car and drove towards Gitanga Road.

Following the incident, the victim handed over the cop's cap to his lawyer, who is set to seek legal redress over the matter.

However, the report did not indicate whether law enforcement officers had launched a manhunt for their colleagues accused of making away with the foreigner's money.

In February, a Chinese national lost Ksh5.2 million along Mombasa Road. While explaining what transpired, the foreigner claimed to have left his office to deposit the money at a bank along Mombasa Road.

He then ordered an online taxi, but while on the way, the car was stopped and he was robbed.

The incident followed another robbery incident where a Chinese national lost Ksh15 million while partying in Lang'ata.
