Members of Parliament allied to Azimio La Umoja One Kenya on Tuesday, November 22, stirred another storm with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The legislators, mainly from Western Kenya, slammed Raila over "political dishonesty and exclusion of the Western Region,"

They stated that Raila betrayed the community by excluding its leaders from the Minority Leadership in both the Senate and the National Assembly.

"The Azimio coalition has not accommodated Western Region in the House leadership of both the Senate and the National Assembly," they revealed in a statement read by Caleb Amisi (Saboti).

While addressing the media at parliament buildings, the MPs claimed that Raila's coalition has marginalised the Mulembe nation by denying the community leadership slots including at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Lugari lawmaker Nabii Nabwera stated that the meeting was a caucus of Mulembe Leaders who met to discuss the "journey" of cohesion and integration of the community.

"In this caucus, there are no parties, the only party existing here is called Mulembe Interest, we can no longer be a number, an arithmetic!" He affirmed.

Orange Democratic Movement - ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna equally lamented the lack of recognition by the party boss to delegate leadership of the senate to a member from the Mulembe community.

"If you look at the leadership of parliament in its entirety, from the National assembly to the Senate, all the positions were given out to people from other regions, none from Western, some of us have led serious political parties for the past five years if you're telling me that I can be a leader of a party of five million people how can I not lead twenty people in the Senate?"

The rift in Azimio continues to widen on all fronts with Wiper Deputy Party Leader on Tuesday, November 22 declaring that Azimio will fall out before  2027.

"I think we are not only imploding, my honest assessment is within a short period of time there will be no Azimio, how do you explain a whole Secretary General of a party, who is out of his seat because he joined Azimio, Kioni and Kanini Kega would be in parliament today if they were in Kenya Kwanza, he stated while appearing in a morning show at KTN News.

Jubilee Party has also accused ODM of betrayal, and threatened to quit the Azimio coalition.

"The decision taken by the Senate, therefore, negates the democratic space of political parties in Parliament as the net effect of the decision taken by the Senate rendered two slots to the Orange Democratic Movement Party,” Sabina Chege stated during a press conference on Thursday, November 10.
