The Kenya National Highways Authority on Friday, November 25, issued an advisory to motorists plying the Uhuru -Mombasa Highway.
KeNHA attributed the disruptions to road drainage enhancement works.
Road users were thus advised to exercise caution while driving through the Uhuru Highway/Mombasa road section from University Way Roundabout to Nyayo Stadium Roundabout.
They were also encouraged to adhere to road signages and temporary traffic detours.
The Authority revealed that the works will begin on Friday, November 25, and through Monday, November 28, between 9 pm and 6 am, thus, they should plan accordingly.
On Thursday, November 25, KeNHA cautioned Kenyans over a plan to close 14 roads on Sunday, November 27.
In a notice dated Thursday, November 24, the authority announced that the roads would be closed to pave the way for the planned Technology Service Providers Association of Kenya (TESPOK) Autism half marathon event.
The closure will kick off at 1:00 am for a duration of 12 hours and 30 minutes. The roads will be re-opened at 1:30 pm.
Affected roads include Uhuru Highway from Nyayo National Stadium to Chiromo, Raila Odinga Way, Kenyatta Avenue and Upperhill Links Road.
Others are Elgon Road, Matumbato Road, Masaba Road, Bunyala Road, Lower Hill Road, Haile Selassie Avenue, Koinange Street, University Way, Lusaka Road and Workshop Road.
"This closure of the roads will take place on Sunday November 27, 2022 between 1.00am to 1.30pm.
"The closure is to give way to the TESPOK (Technology Service Providers of Kenya) Autism Marathon to take place," read the statement in part.
KeNHA, as a result, advised motorists to cooperate with the police to access diversions that will be created, later on.
