A woman who migrated to Australia from Kenya was involved in a tragic helicopter accident while on a trip with her ten-year-old son.
The son joined his mother in Australia for a reunion over the 2022 December holidays after his visa was approved.
According to reports, the crash involving two helicopters occurred on Monday, January 2, and left at least three people dead.
The two sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the local hospital for urgent medical treatment.
A friend of the woman stated that the news came as a shock to her and others who were all praying for the victim's quick recovery.
"The lady just wanted her son to have fun and see Australia. It was just a mother wanting to give the world to her child: Dreamworld, Sea World and so much more," the friend stated.
The victim was described as a loving person full of life and always made an impact on all the people she interacted with.
Following the incident, Australian authorities launched investigations to establish the cause of the accident involving two helicopters.
"I ask the public if you have CCTV footage, if you are witnesses, if you have any evidence or anything that you can assist with the inquiries, please come forward," the authorities stated.
Authorities added that they had recovered perishable evidence from the scene of the accident that will be used to recreate the incident and unearth what led up to the tragic accident.
Furthermore, they assured the public of meticulous probe to ensure that such accidents do not occur again.
However, according to the footage and damage seen by a section of witnesses, the main rotor blade of the helicopter taking off collided with the front cockpit of the descending helicopter.
