President William Ruto is known for his style and is perceived as a man who values time- going by past remarks of his inner circle.

From his bespoke suits, wedding ring to a luxury watch collection, Ruto is the embodiment of a grass-to-grace narrative.

One of his valued possessions includes a Swiss-made International Watch Company (IWC) Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 18 karat Rose Gold Men's Watch.

According to a spot check by Kenyans.co.ke, the president has worn the watch during various meetings and recently while delivering his New Year's message at State House on December 31, 2022.

American multinational e-commerce company, eBay, puts a price tag of the watch at Ksh5.3 million but in some seasons it retails at a discounted price tag of Ksh3.9 million.

Mounted on an 18-karat gold framework, the case consists of a 44.2 mm diameter, 14.9 millimetre, and a see-through sapphire glass back.

The luxurious watch also has a perpetual calendar with displays for the date, day, month, and year in four digits. The dial harmonises calendar subdials and a moon-phase aperture to a dazzling effect.

Other features include a 7-day power reserve, power reserve display, sapphire glass, arched edge, anti-reflective coating on both sides, pellaton automatic winding and small hacking seconds.

In 2020, Ruto was captured with a Hublot Big Bang Rose Gold Watch- which at the time retailed at around Ksh3 million.

The President and his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta are known for going all out when it comes to their watches, with the latter boasting of a collection worth millions.

In October 2019, Uhuru was captured with a black A. Lange and Sohne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon watch worth an estimated Ksh25 million.
