Life gave content creator Samuel Njoroge alias Sammy Saich lemons and he made gallons of lemonade.

In 2018, while playing football he suffered a severe knee injury that required about Ksh500,000 to repair through surgery, money he could not raise.

"I was so depressed and stressed, I thought my life had come to the end. My parents were not able to raise the funds," he narrated.

Speaking to K24 on Thursday, January 26, the content creator recounted how the injury halted his football career but all hope was not lost.

"As we speak, I get at least between Ksh80,000 to Ksh100,000 through content creation. Through this ball, I share my smile with the world," he shared.

After working as a fitness trainer at the local gym and a football coach to school-going children, the pandemic struck and he was forced to look for other sources of income.

The 25-year-old turned to content creation through various social media platforms, especially TikTok.

"I looked at what the likes of Khaby Lame and David Moya were doing and got inspired. I chose to do football since it is my passion. I wanted to inspire others," Njoroge stated.

"When I made my first post, I was just trying to test the waters. I did not even have fare," he recalled.

Armed with his miniature goalpost and a yellow ball, he goes to the streets of Nairobi and its environs engaging strangers in a challenge- try and score.

Njoroge shares his content on TikTok and Instagram. Some of the major platforms Kenyan youths have leveraged to earn money.

"Share your smile with the world," are the words that accompany each of his football content online.

"Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, and the way you make others feel is your trademark," the content creator encouraged.

In one video, Njoroge engaged soldiers seemingly from the General Service Unit (GSU) in the fun challenge. Interestingly, during the challenge, Njoroge rewards all those who manage to score.

His harmless stunts attract a huge crowd that cheers on those who attempt the challenge as others capture the moment with their phones.

Njoroge was fortunate to meet renowned footballers like Mohammed Salah, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Wayne Rooney. He also interacted with sensational comedian and TikTok star Khaby Lame among others in Dubai in 2022.

He explained his plan to start an academy to train young kids with passion for football.
