Friends of the mysterious lady who drowned in a dam in Juja have revealed intricate details of her lifestyle, days after her body was identified by her family.

According to a close friend who spoke to the media, Fridah Warau Kamuyu lived a secluded lifestyle and had made plans to leave the country for greener pastures.

Further, Kamuyu was reportedly housed in a rental house in Makongeni estate, Kiambu County by Tirus Maina Gikonyo-a businessman whom they had created an intimate bond with.

The duo reportedly met during one of Kamuyu's entertainment gigs in Thika town whereby they struck a close relationship and continued to see each other for the past four months.

The 22-year-old, who had graduated in November 2022 with a Diploma in Hospitality, rarely kept a close relationship with her family.

Kiambu County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO) Richard Mwaura affirmed that the parents were unaware of their daughter's whereabouts as she rarely called home.

“We had to process her fingerprints because no one had come out to claim her,” Mwaura told The Standard.

Kamuyu passed away when a vehicle plunged into the water, killing both her and the driver. The man was later identified as Tirus Gikonyo.

The two had packed on the edge of the dam - which is a popular hangout spot for revelers - however, the vehicle plunged into the dam under unclear circumstances.

According to a postmortem conducted on both bodies, the duo died due to drowning.

Kiambu police boss Mwaura stated that investigations were ongoing to probe whether the tragedy was an act of suicide or was by accident.

"Mechanical analysis of the vehicle, state of the bodies as recovered, analysis of autopsies as well as toxicology reports will give us a file closure," read his statement in part.
